The quintessential Iceland tour! Starting off at Reykjavik we will take you to some of the hottest spots of Icelandic history and nature including Þingvellir national park, Geysir, Kerið and Gullfoss.
The Golden circle is the name commonly given to a combination of three sites of special significance in the west of Iceland. These sites are, Þingvellir National park, Geysir and Gullfoss.
Our day tour will take you to all these essential stops and more as we share with you some of the highlights of Icelandic history and nature all in one magnificent route through the Icelandic countryside.
The Golden circle is one of the most popular day tours in Iceland thanks to how accessible it is and how much it has to offer. You have the Þingvellir national park which was home to the world's first parliament as well as the site of the silfra fissure where the american and eurasian tectonic plates are separating. There is also Gullfoss the golden waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland and the Geothermal paradise of Geysir where you can see frequent hot spring eruptions.
Further to these we also take you to some additional sites such as Faxi waterfall and Kerið volcanic crater.

Once we have all our guests we will set off from the city and journey to our first major destination, Kerið volcanic crater. Kerið is one of several crater lakes in the area. It became popular due to it's red lava rock that contrast with the aquamarine waters created by the mineral composition in the surrounding soil.
Our next big stop is at Gullfoss waterfall. Gullfoss, translated as the Golden waterfall, is a large waterfall that drops a staggering 32 meters over two stages. It is fed from the white river which originates from Iceland’s 2nd biggest glacier. The unique mineral composition of the sediment in the river causes a shimmering effect as the water cascades which is how the waterfall got its name.
After the waterfall we will make our way to the Geysir Geothermal area. The area is named after the “Great Geysir” a large geyser in the area that no longer erupts under its own power and the location that gave us the English word ‘Geyser’. Luckily there is still activity here to be seen and Geysirs sister hot spring Strokkur still erupts very frequently meaning you are almost guaranteed to see a great show. There is also a large visitors center here and a great spot for you to buy some lunch.
Last but not least comes Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park. This location is known as a hot spot for divers due to the crystal clear waters between the separating plates of Eurasia and America but it is also known as the location of the world's very first parliament. Needless to say this part of Iceland has a lot of stunning nature and a very deep history.
After the National park we will head back to Reykjavik so that you can continue your Icelandic adventure.
